Roberto Infascelli

Roberto Infascelli

Roberto Infascelli was an Italian film producer, director, and screenwriter, recognized for his contributions to the poliziottesco genre in the 1970s. Born into a cinematic family, he was the son of producer Carlo Infascelli and brother to Paolo and Fiorella Infascelli. His son, Alex Infascelli, continued the family's cinematic legacy as a director. Infascelli began his career in the film industry as a production manager and assistant director. He made his directorial debut under the pseudonym Bob Raymond with Luana la figlia della foresta vergine (1968). He gained prominence as a producer with films like La polizia ringrazia (1972), which is considered a seminal work in the poliziottesco genre. He continued to explore crime and thriller themes with La polizia sta a guardare (1973), which he also directed, and La polizia chiede aiuto (1974). Infascelli's career was cut short when he died in a car accident in France on August 18, 1977, at the age of 38, while conducting research for a new film project.
